Left to right standing: William Counts, William Greble, Donald Hudson Bottom: Thomas Hansbury, John Murphy, Harris Davis, Francis Van Veen, Robert Fisher, Joseph Kennedy The "Bill" Counts crew aircraft was hit by flak over the target at Aschersleben on the mission of 29th June 44. The aircraft immediately exploded and miraculously pilot Bill Counts was thrown clear. He was the sole survivor of his crew and was taken POW until the end of the War. See Casualties Page |
