Gensert, Robert Clark, Ernest Booth, Frank Borchick, Stanley Brzcsowski, Charles Knowles The original crew#55, photo taken during training phase at Wendover, Utah, before transit to England. The majority of the pictured crew baled out 60 miles north of Berlin on the mission of 21st June 44. After capture they were handed over to the local S.S. who shot them, cynically reporting them attempting to escape. This atrocity was raised during the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials and the S.S. perpetrators were found guilty and subsequently executed for their crime. The remains of pilot Edwin Helton and navigator Richard Ludka were never recovered and remain "missing" to this day. See Casualties Page |
