Rackheath
Incident believed to have occured following a training
flight. This 791st lead ship aircraft sustained a nosewheel collapse upon landing and is
pictured resting off the runway on the grass at Rackheath. The aircraft was subsequently
repaired by the 470th Sub Depot and back on missions in February 45. The aircraft later
crashed in Soviet occupied territory to the east of Berlin on a mission to the German
Capital on 18th March 45.
