The entire crew was lost upon returning from Group Mission#10, the infamous Hamm mission of 22nd April 44. They were attacked by a Me410 intruder aircraft while approaching the landing pattern and crashed to the ground at Bluebell Wood, Witherdale St. near Mendham, Suffolk.
