
Lt. Willard Sell
in Marrakesh
Crew Commander and pilot Lt. Willard Sell
of the 791st Squadron pictured with local children in Marrakesh en-route to
England. Part of the original air echelon, the crews took the southern
Atlantic ferry route leaving Marrakesh on the final leg to England. The
route took them north across the Bay of Biscay avoiding enemy airspace
before landing at Valley, north Wales, then on to Rackheath. Lt Sell and his
crew arrived Rackheath on the 13th March 1944.
