Station 145 Rackheath Today

Road Sign "Albert Shower Road"

Located on the former base Technical Site and several hundred yards from the former main Hangar, this new road sign commemorates Col. Albert Shower and the 467th BGs' association with the site.

Another reminder of the past, this road sign commemorates the 467th's most celebrated B24 "Witchcraft" that completed an Eighth Air Force record of 130 combat missions without a single abort.

Pictured in November 2010, Brian Mahoney stands proudly behind the road sign named after his Father Lt. Col. James "Jim" Mahoney, Air Executive and Deputy Base Commander of the 467th BG from October 1944. Sign is located on a new development off Green Lane West.
