1st January45 B24H 41-28962 "Flak Magnet II" Brussels, Belgium 

Following the mission of the 31st December 44, the 790th Lt. Epting crew put the aircraft down at Brussels in order to refuel for return to Rackheath next day. A surprise German offensive "Operation Bodenplatte" targeting Allied airfields throughout the continental mainland resulted in early morning strafing attacks leaving many aircraft destroyed or badly damaged. See Nose Art.
