Eyewitness Account
It was over the city of Magdeburg that I saw the plane piloted by Lt. Miller, go down. A direct hit by flak was the cause. I was riding the right waist when I saw the plane hit. It broke in two right by the waist windows. The tail end seemed to float up in the air and the front end headed in a dive for the ground. When it started down I could see flame in the rear part where it had broken in two. The front of the plane went down so fast that no one could possibly get out. I followed it down for a while, but I didn't see any chutes so to the best of my knowledge no one in the plane got out
