In the aftermath of the terrorist attack at the World Trade Center In 2001, the 2nd Air Division veterans return for Remembrance Week in November to Norwich, England with their younger generation--sons, daughters and grandchildren--to dedicate a new Library, replacing the one destroyed by a fire in 1994. Through flashbacks to past 2nd Air Division reunions and through the timeless rituals of the current reunion's events, we learn more about lost comrades. The 2nd Air Division veterans are granted the “Freedom of the City” at St. Andrews Hall, the highest honor bestowed by the City of Norwich. They look for names on the rows of white crosses and stars at the American Cemetery at Maddingley. Air and ground crews wander the runways of their old airbases at Rackheath and Hardwick and rekindle their friendships with the English people.
