Mission Narrative
The 8th AF's second mission (#333) this day dispatched 386 bombers in the afternoon to hit marshaling yards in France and Belgium. The 2nd BD dispatched 151 B-24's to bomb targets in Brussels and Liege Belgium. The 467th BG was a part of a group of 40 to attack the marshaling yards at Liege.

Fourteen aircraft took off starting at 1445. All reached the target and dropped their bombs. Twelve ships carried 8x1000lb general purpose bombs, and six ships carries 6 x 1000lb general purpose bombs. With the exception of two bombs (on 41-29363) that hung up and were later jettisoned in the North Sea, all fell in the area of the target with good results.

Major Palmer led the group in Lt. Monefeldt’s ship (41-29363 with crew #032-R0 of the 789th BS), and Lt. Hooton flew in the deputy lead with Lt. Lominack on 42-94963 with crew #028-R0 of the 789th BS.

Nine enemy aircraft were encountered, but they did not attack. Flak was "moderate to heavy" and accurate, although only "slight damage" was done to the Group's aircraft.
