Mission Narrative
Mission #355 for the 8th AF saw 749 bombers hit targets in Germany. 261 B-24s are dispatched by the 2nd BD to hit aviation industry targets at Tutow, Germany.

Eighteen aircraft, each loaded with 10x500lb bombs, started takeoff at 1015. One aircraft did not attack the target. 42-52507 'Miss Judy' had it's number 1 engine smoking and had to turn back while over the North Sea.

Major Smith led the Group flying with Lt. Volk on 42-52525 'Six Bits' with crew #030-R0 of the 789th BS. Capt. Doenges flew Deputy Lead with Lt. Lominack on 41-29363 with crew #028-R0 of the 789th BS.

The results of the mission were described as fair. Flak was meager, though accurate. No enemy fighters were encountered. There were no aircraft loss or casualties incurred on this mission.
