Mission Narrative
THe 8th AF mission #382 dispatched 1,029 bombers to attack marshaling yards and aircraft industry targets in Germany and rail targets in France and Belgium. The 2nd BD dispatched 491 B-24's to hit rail targets in France and Belgium but are recalled due to clouds.

Twenty-six aircraft of the Group started taking off at 0730. Each aircraft was loaded with 3 x 2000lb bombs (the largest carried). Formation was achieved without difficulty. By 1040 the mission was recalled due to heavy cloud cover over the target. One aircraft, 41-29446 'Tangerine' flown by Lt. No enemy fighters were encountered and "the usual" flak was encountered at the enemy coast.
