Mission Narrative
Mission #373 for the 8th AF dispatched 1,126 bombers against rail targets in France and Germany and gun batteries in France. THe 2nd BD dispatched 369 B-24's to attack the marshaling yards at Saarbrucken, Neunkirchen and Kons/Karthus. The 467th BG joined 66 bombers to attack the locamotive repair depot at Neunkirchen, Germany.

Twenty-four aircraft started their takeoff 0800. The Group took off and assembled as briefed. At the Division assembly line, two B-24's of the 458th BG were seen colliding, One lost it's tail and was seen "going down". Minor difficulty was had gaining altitude after crossing the enemy coast, however, the rest of the flight to the target was without difficulty,

Major Palmer lead the Group, flying with Lt. Campbell on 42-95094 'Leading Lady' with crew #053-R0 of the 790th BS. Capt. Garner flew Deputy Lead with Lt. Ford on 44-40070 'Mademoiselle Zig Zig' with crew #052-R0 of the 790th BS. The second squadron was led by Major Palmer, flying with Lt. Volk on 42-52525 'Six Bits' with crew #030-R0 of the 789th BS. Lt. Harris flew Deputy Lead on 41-29363 with crew #029-R0 of the 789th BS.

Results of the mission were good. No flak or enemy fighters were encountered. No aircraft were lost and there were no crew casualties.
