Additional Remarks: Formerly with the 491st BG the ship appears flying combat with the 467th, 789th Squadron from early June 44. The ship was lost on the 29th June 44 mission to Aschersleben after being struck by flak shortly after bombs-away. Tragically, only Pilot Bill Counts survived the incident and was taken POW.
