The Memorial Gates were sponsored by members of the 790th Squadron James G. Coffey Crew to the people of Rackheath for their kindness and support and installed to the entrance of Holy Trinity Church, Rackheath, during the early 80's.
On May 8, 1995, Col Shower was present for the 50th anniversary of VE celebrations along with Ralph Elliott, Geoff Gregory, and other 467th veterans and wives, which also saw an unveiling of a bronze plaque commemorating the gift of the "Coffey Crew Gates" on the brick pillar outside the Holy Trinity Church.
In January 2008, the Coffey Crew Gates were replaced in a dedication service attended by three members of the James G. Coffey family, son Mark and wife Jean, also daughter of Jim Coffey, Carolyn, to pay tribute to the crew and the 467th BG. The dedication service was conducted by Bishop David, the Bishop of Thetford, who gave a moving address during the dedication of the new gates which also included the local vicar Richard Sutton reading out a letter from 467th President, Ralph Davis.
